Finally, I am off for my Grand Tour. I have awaited this trip all summer but was afraid something would happen and I would not get to go. Where does my trip of a lifetime go? For the next twelve days I will be cruising on the Mediterranean Sea on board the Serenade of the Seas. We left Barcelona on Friday to a wonderful adventure. Today’s port of call was Cannes, France and then to Monaco and Monte Carlo. For those who have read Only Love Twice know that Madison and Saleem both enjoyed the adventures of James Bond. Today, Kat Canfield got to walk the floor of the magnificent Grand Casino. I didn’t get to see any James Bonds walking around the inside of the building was beautiful. One of the most fairy tailed romances of the twentieth century was of course Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco. I will have plenty of new romantic adventures to spin as the whole palace and garden areas exudes romance. The only thing better than seeing it now is to see it with someone you are romantically linked to. Perhaps I shall have new characters to write that story for.

I took about five hundred pictures today of the Cote D’ Azure and the French Riviera. Beautiful architecture, lovely gardens, and breathtaking blue seas made this a photographers dream. How can one not fall in love with the romance that is Nice, Cannes, and Monte Carlo? It was inspiring to both my writing side and my photographic side. The wonders of the digital age will make it so out of that five hundred I should get a few really great shots.

Back on board tonight was formal night. How lovely to see so many couples dressed for dinner and walking around the ship holding hands, dancing, and even some kissing. I am inspired by the Romance of the Seas tonight as I watch the people. Perhaps a romantic man awaits in the future for me so I no longer have to dream of him.

Tomorrow it is off to Florence and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
